The LCD SERIES UV units from the Italian manufacturer SITA srl are, within its range of domestic units, the ones with the largest treatment capacity and the most advanced features, as they have a control panel with LCD screen and hour meter.

Characterised by their compactness and ease of installation and maintenance, they are designed in particular for individual users, households or as an essential complement to other plants (small reverse osmosis plants, water distributors, chillers, etc.). They are also suitable for industrial applications in sectors such as the food and pharmaceutical industries.

All UV disinfection units of the SITA LCD series are equipped with a control panel with hourmeter.

Other options on request:

LCD PLUS version which, in addition to the hourmeter, has an irradiation and temperature sensor.
RM version, with a manual cleaning system for quartz sleeves.

Information on UV radiation

UV disinfection systems are specifically designed to destroy harmful bacteria and viruses in water.

Its operation is based on a physical principle that guarantees its reliability: the emission of ultraviolet radiation.

The UV light emitted by special mercury vapour lamps (UV-C λ= 254 nm) is highly disinfectant, as it interacts at the molecular level with DNA and RNA.

The profound bio-structural disorder induced by such radiation interferes with the development and reproductive capacity of any type of micro-organism, rendering it harmless. In general, it is advisable to install a pre-filter at the inlet to the UV equipment; in this way, impurities of any nature and consistency are retained. This operation is essential if a high degree of disinfection is to be obtained; in fact, if suspended particles are not filtered and removed from the water, the steriliser's performance will be reduced.
